Phase transitions with infinitely many absorbing states in complex networks.
We investigate the properties of the threshold contact process (TCP), a process showing an absorbing-state phase transition with infinitely many absorbing states, on random complex networks. The finite-size scaling exponents characterizing the transition are obtained in a heterogeneous mean-field (HMF) approximation and compared with extensive simulations, particularly in the case of heterogene...
متن کاملDimensional reduction in a model with infinitely many absorbing states.
Using the Monte Carlo method, we study a two-dimensional model with infinitely many absorbing states. Our estimation of the critical exponent beta is approximately equal to 0.273(5) suggests that the model belongs to the (1+1) rather than to (2+1) directed-percolation universality class. We also show that for a large class of absorbing states the dynamic Monte Carlo method leads to spurious dyn...
متن کاملInfinitely Many Trees Have Non-Sperner Subtree Poset
Let C(T) denote the poset of subtrees of a tree T with respect to the inclusion ordering. Jacobson, Kézdy and Seif gave a single example of a tree T for which C(T) is not Sperner, answering a question posed by Penrice. The authors then ask whether there exist an infinite family of trees T such that C(T) is not Sperner. This paper provides such a family.
متن کاملA Proof That Thompson’s Groups Have Infinitely Many Relative Ends
We show that each of Thompson’s groups F , T , and V has infinitely many ends relative to the groups F[0,1/2], T[0,1/2], and V[0,1/2) (respectively). As an application, we simplify the proof, due to Napier and Ramachandran, that F , T , and V are not Kähler groups. We go on to show that Thompson’s groups T and V have Serre’s property FA. The main theorems together answer a question on Bestvina’...
متن کاملOne-Dimensional Lattice Gas Models with Infinitely Many Absorbing States
We determined, by numerical simulations, the critical behavior one-dimensional systems with infinitely many absorbing states. These models are modified versions of the conserved lattice gas model in which two adjacent active particles instead of just one can jump to their neighboring sites. The models studied here are examples of systems with many absorbing states and order parameter coupled to...
